Heat Exchanger :

Heat exchangers  equipments designed to transfer heat between two or more fluids – Liquids, gases, or a combination of both of different temperatures.

Heat exchanger are transferring heat temperature from  gas-to-gas, liquid-to-gas, or liquid-to-liquid and the process occur through a solid vessel and medium prevent mixing of the fluids or gas.

Heat exchanger  in-service :

In-services inspection of  heat exchangers activities are performed based by plant procedural requirement and  the sequence of operation. Flushing  tube from  shell side to  remove the  channel cover and pulling  tube bundle for visual examination of bundle, attachment ,  flange face and shell inside

Based on condition of  Heat Exchanger  service condition NDT method – Eddy current test, Boroscopy test on tube and   LPI / MPI test on  weld joint  on  channel cover,  UT thickness and Hardness check on channel cover    for verification  prior to hydro-static test of shell side and boxing up for on-stream of plant operation.
